2018 : Sansa : An ATFO Champion
“I’ve had her for the past 100 days and she has far surpassed my expectations, I didn’t expect her to be the horse she turned into.” Brenda Hanson
After a two year recovery from near-death, Sansa was selected by trainer Brenda Hanson for the 2018 Heart of Phoenix’s fund raiser, the Appalachian Trainer Face Off. Brenda and Sansa won each category and the 2018 title of ATFO champion! But their partnership didn’t end there, after a 30 day reunion in 2019, Brenda and Sansa qualified and competed at the hugely popular Versatile Horse & Rider Competition for Equine Affair hosted in Massachusetts. As well as performing for a national audience, Sansa had more than 3k follower on the Heart of Phoenix live feed.
Today : Sansa : A forever home
Thanks to Heart of Phoenix volunteers, Brenda’s love and guidance and Sansa’s amazing spirit, Sansa has gained national attention from horse lovers as well as inspiring an article published in Horse Illustrated. Sansa’s story is far from finished. Her next chapter is a long one, with True North Farm & Events as her forever home she delights guests with her love for people and helps educate how to be a quality horse partner.
